Qualifications

• Minimum of two years' practical experience in underground or heavy equipment service roles.
• Completion of an accredited apprenticeship program or one year of post-secondary technical education in a related field.
• Priority for candidates with underground mining experience.
• Strong troubleshooting and repair skills for mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive maintenance, inspection, and repair of underground mining machinery to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues with accuracy.
• Travel to underground mining sites to perform on-site repairs and component replacements to maintain continuous production.
• Conduct post-repair testing to verify equipment meets safety and manufacturer standards.
• Interpret schematics and technical manuals, especially for low voltage control systems, to guide repairs.
• Align and calibrate motor couplings, transfer cases, gearboxes, and related assemblies per manufacturer specs.
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory requirements for underground environments and equipment handling.
• Collaborate with supervisors and engineers to report findings and support continuous improvement.
