Komatsu Mining Corp. is seeking an Underground Field Service Technician in Nevada.

This onsite role focuses on maintaining and repairing underground mining equipment, diagnosing complex failures, and performing on-site service to minimize downtime and maximize safety and efficiency. The technician will travel to underground sites as needed, read schematics, and collaborate with engineers and supervisors to ensure high availability of critical machinery.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years' practical experience in underground or heavy equipment service roles.
• Completion of an accredited apprenticeship program or one year of post-secondary technical education in a related field.
• Preference for underground mining environment experience.
• Strong troubleshooting, safety focus and ability to read technical manuals.
• Ability to interpret schematics and perform precise repairs.

Responsibilities

• Comprehensive Equipment Maintenance: maintain, inspect, and repair underground mining machinery to minimize downtime.
• Advanced Diagnostic Analysis: use diagnostic tools to identify mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues.
• Field Service Expertise: travel to underground sites for on-site repairs and component replacements.
• Quality Assurance Testing: perform post-repair testing to verify safety and performance.
• Technical Documentation Utilization: interpret schematics and manuals for repairs.
• Mechanical Alignment: align and calibrate motor couplings, gearboxes per specs.
• Safety and Compliance: follow all safety protocols for underground environments.
• Collaboration and Communication: coordinate with supervisors and engineers to report findings and improvements.
