Job summary

Komatsu Mining Corp. is seeking an Underground Service Technician to maintain and repair underground mining equipment in rugged environments.

You will diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems and perform on-site repairs to keep production on track. Ideal candidates have 2+ years in underground or heavy equipment service, an apprenticeship or a year of related post-secondary training, and strong reading of schematics and manuals for low voltage controls.

Qualifications

• Underground/heavy equipment service experience (min 2 years).
• Apprenticeship completion or 1 year of post-secondary education in a related field.
• Underground mining experience preferred for safety familiarity.
• Strong diagnostic, mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical repair skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, inspection, and repair of underground mining machinery.
• Use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues.
• Travel to underground sites to perform on-site repairs and component replacements.
• Complete testing to verify equipment performance meets safety standards.
• Interpret schematics and manuals, especially for low voltage controls.
• Align and calibrate motor couplings and gearboxes per manufacturer specs.
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with supervisors and engineers for continuous improvements.
