Qualifications

• Minimum of two years' practical underground or heavy equipment service experience.
• Completion of an accredited apprenticeship or one year of post-secondary technical education.
• Underground mining experience preferred to handle unique safety protocols.
• Strong troubleshooting and repair skills for mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Comprehensive maintenance, inspection, and repair of underground mining machinery.
• Utilize diagnostics to identify issues in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Travel to underground sites for on-site repairs and replacements of components.
• Post-repair tests to verify performance and safety compliance.
• Interpret schematics and manuals, especially for low voltage control systems.
• Align motors, gearboxes, and related assemblies to manufacturer specs.
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory requirements for underground work.
• Coordinate with supervisors and engineers to drive continuous improvement.
