Komatsu Mining Corp. seeks an Underground Field Service Technician to maintain and optimize underground mining machinery. You will diagnose, repair, and service mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems in challenging underground environments, contributing to safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years' practical experience in underground or heavy equipment service roles.
• Completion of an accredited apprenticeship program or one year of post-secondary technical education in a related field.
• Preference for Underground Experience in mining environments.
• Strong skills in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining complex machinery with emphasis on reliability and safety.
• Ability to work in demanding underground conditions including limited visibility and confined spaces.
• Clear reading and interpretation of technical manuals, schematics, and safety documents.
• Willingness to engage in ongoing training and certifications to keep skills current.

Responsibilities

• Comprehensive Equipment Maintenance: Thorough maintenance, inspection, and repair of underground mining machinery to minimize downtime.
• Advanced Diagnostic Analysis: Use diagnostic tools to identify issues in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Field Service Expertise: Travel to underground sites for on-site repairs and component replacements.
• Quality Assurance Testing: Conduct post-repair tests to verify performance and safety.
• Technical Documentation Utilization: Interpret schematics and manuals, especially for low voltage control systems.
• Mechanical Alignment: Align and calibrate motor couplings, gearboxes, and related assemblies per specs.
• Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory requirements for underground environments.
• Collaboration and Communication: Coordinate with supervisors and engineers to report findings and drive improvements.
