Job summary

Enlighten is seeking a highly motivated DevOps Engineer to join our fast-paced development team in Columbia, MD. You will implement and manage infrastructure with Kubernetes, AWS, and automation tools, while ensuring reliability and scalability of services.

The role requires deep expertise in CI/CD, scripting (Python/Bash), and Linux administration, and involves collaborating with developers to integrate applications into our cloud and edge infrastructure. Onsite work is required.

Qualifications

• TS/SCI clearance required; U.S. citizenship required.
• 9+ years in DevOps or software development with related degree, or 7 years with Masters, or 13 years with HS diploma.
• Strong knowledge of container orchestration and AWS services (EKS, EC2, S3, Lambda).
• Proficient in Terraform and Ansible for configuration management.
• Experience deploying, scaling, and managing applications and OS.
• Programming in Python, Bash, or Go; familiar with Git and CI/CD.
• Experience leading engineering teams or mentoring juniors.
• Willing to work onsite in Columbia, MD 5 days a week.

Responsibilities

• Support cloud infrastructure deployment in AWS, especially EKS.
• Develop on-premise and edge infrastructure alongside cloud infrastructure.
• Automate deployment processes ensuring reliability and scalability.
• Maintain Kubernetes containers and AWS resources.
• Collaborate with developers to integrate applications into infrastructure.
• Monitor production systems and troubleshoot issues.
• Improve processes to ensure high availability and performance.
• Stay current with new technologies and trends.
• Mentor teammates and provide leadership in senior role.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
