Job summary

Enlighten is seeking a highly motivated DevOps Engineer to join our fast-paced development team in Columbia, MD. The ideal candidate will have strong working knowledge in Kubernetes and container orchestration, CI/CD, automation, AWS, and Linux systems administration to support infrastructure deployment and scalable services.

This role is hybrid, averaging 1–2 days on site, with opportunities to work remotely as needed.

Qualifications

• Active Secret U.S. Government Security Clearance is required.
• 5+ years in DevOps Engineering or Software Development with a Bachelor's in a related field; or 3 years with a Master's; or 9 years with a High School diploma.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes or similar container orchestration platforms.
• Extensive experience with AWS services (EKS, EC2, EBS, S3, Lambda) for deployment and infrastructure management.
• Proficiency in configuration management tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Experience with application/container/OS deployment, scaling, and management.
• Programming skills in Python, Bash, or Go.
• Familiarity with Git, Flux, and other DevOps tools.
• Comfort working in a terminal-based environment.
• Linux system administration and troubleshooting expertise.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Understanding of AGILE software development methodologies.
• DoD 8140/8570 compliance certifications (Security+) or willingness to obtain within 60 days of hire.
• Hybrid work requirement: on-site 1–2 days/week in Columbia, MD.

Responsibilities

• Support development and deployment of cloud infrastructure in AWS, especially EKS.
• Support development and deployment of on-premise and portable Edge infrastructure.
• Automate deployment processes and ensure reliability and scalability of services.
• Manage Kubernetes containers and cloud infrastructure on AWS.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate applications into infrastructure.
• Monitor and troubleshoot production systems and resolve issues.
• Continuously improve processes and tools for high availability and performance.
• Stay current with new technologies to improve infrastructure.
