Job summary

Enlighten is seeking a highly motivated DevOps Engineer to join our fast-paced development team in Columbia, MD. The ideal candidate will lead deployment, automation, and scaling of cloud and edge infrastructure using Kubernetes, AWS, Terraform, Ansible, and scripting in Python/Bash/Go. This role requires TS/SCI clearance and DoD compliance.

The position emphasizes mentorship, on-site collaboration, and driving reliability with CI/CD and monitoring across cloud and on-prem environments.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with CI Poly U.S. Government clearance required.
• 9+ years DevOps or software development; or 7 years with a Master's; or 13 years with HS.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms.
• Strong knowledge of AWS services (EKS, EC2, EBS, S3, Lambda).
• Proficient in Terraform and Ansible.
• Experience with Python, Bash, or Go.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication; AGILE experience.
• Demonstrated tech lead/mentorship experience.
• DoD 8140/8570 compliance certifications (e.g., Security+).
• Willing to open/close workspace; on-site in Columbia, MD; 40-hour work week.

Responsibilities

• Support cloud infrastructure in AWS, especially EKS.
• Support non-cloud on-premise and portable edge infrastructure.
• Automate deployment processes for reliability and scalability.
• Manage Kubernetes containers and AWS infrastructure.
• Collaborate with developers to integrate apps into the infra.
• Monitor, troubleshoot production systems; resolve issues.
• Improve processes and tools for high availability and performance.
• Stay current with new tech; mentor and lead as senior.
• Flex hours for critical installs; occasional weekend shifts.
• Other duties as assigned.
