Job summary

Enlighten, a leader in big data and cloud-based services, seeks a DevOps Engineer to join our Columbia, MD team. You will implement infrastructure, automate deployments and ensure reliability across Kubernetes on AWS, with on-site support in Columbia.

The role requires TS/SCI with CI poly, strong Linux skills, Python/ Bash/ Go proficiency, and Agile leadership. On-site duties, possible off-hours, and competitive compensation are provided.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with CI poly required.
• 9+ years in DevOps or software development with related degree.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes and AWS services.
• Proficient with Terraform and Ansible.
• Experience with Python, Bash, or Go.
• Familiar with Git, Flux, and CI/CD tooling.
• Comfortable in a Linux/terminal environment.
• Agile software development experience and leadership.
• DoD 8570/8140 certifications required.
• Willing to work on-site in Columbia, MD; flexible off-hours.

Responsibilities

• Support development and deployment of cloud infrastructure in AWS, especially EKS.
• Support development and deployment of non-cloud (Edge) infrastructure of on-premise and portable equipment.
• Automate deployment processes and ensure reliability and scalability of services.
• Manage and maintain Kubernetes containers and cloud infrastructure on AWS.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate their applications into the infrastructure.
• Monitor and troubleshoot production systems and resolve issues as necessary.
• Continuously improve processes and tools to ensure high availability and performance.
• Stay current with new technologies and industry trends, continuously exploring new ways to improve our infrastructure.
• Seamlessly transition between hands-on execution and team guidance, treating mentorship and team leadership as inherent components of senior-level impact.
• Other duties as assigned.
