Job summary

Rush Truck Centers is seeking a Service Advisor to sell and schedule needed service work for commercial truck and equipment in the dealership service department. You will gather customer concerns, perform vehicle inspections, and drive diagnostics using J-Pro, printing reports and referencing service history.

Provide cost and time estimates, secure approvals, and manage repair orders with customers throughout the workflow.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• One year of service experience or equivalent education/experience.
• Manufacturer training is required.
• Valid CDL license is required.
• Driving record must be insurable by the company’s carrier.

Responsibilities

• Gather customer complaint details and expectations.
• Perform vehicle walk around inspection and verify vehicle information.
• Connect to J-Pro and perform on-the-spot vehicle diagnostics; print report and reference service history.
• Advise customers on vehicle care and maintenance per manufacturer specifications.
• Write up problems on the service input card and obtain customer signatures.
• Set promt time based on shop workflow and communicate with foreman.
• Determine payment method and obtain credit approval if needed.
• Create and manage repair orders and secure customer signatures.
• Monitor progress and inform customers of any changes in estimates or time; obtain approvals for additional work.
