Job summary

Rush Truck Centers is seeking a Service Advisor to sell and schedule needed service work for commercial trucks and equipment. You will gather customer details, perform on-the-spot diagnostics with J-Pro, and reference service history to recommend additional work.

You will advise customers on proper vehicle maintenance, prepare repair orders, and coordinate with the foreman to establish promised times and payment methods. CDL and insurability required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• One year service experience or equivalent education.
• Appropriate manufacturer training.
• Valid CDL license and insurability.

Responsibilities

• Gather customer complaint details and expectations.
• Perform vehicle walk around inspection and verify vehicle information.
• Connect to J-Pro and perform on the spot vehicle diagnostics; print report; refer to service history.
• Advise customers on vehicle care and maintenance per manufacturer specifications.
• Write up customer vehicle problems clearly on service input card with customer signature.
• Establish promised time based on shop workflow and communicate with foreman.
