Job summary

XKIG is seeking a Climber to prune, remove, and manage trees, following Foreperson directions. You will handle tools, assess hazards, and ensure safety during operations and storm response. The role requires high school level credentials and prior climbing experience is preferred.

Must pass background check and drug screen, comply with I-9 and E-Verify, and be able to travel for storm restoration work as needed. Health insurance and 401K benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of knots, ropes, and rigging devices used in tree trimming and removal operations.
• Must be able to climb and descend trees using rope and safety saddle.
• Must be able to administer and implement emergency rescue techniques, including tree rescue and all applicable first aid techniques.
• Must be familiar with electrical hazards and appropriate operating procedure near conductors and aerial rescue in emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Climb, prune, and remove trees according to Foreperson’s directives.
• Load and unload trucks with logs, brush, and debris; operate brush chipper.
• Work from the ground with hand saws, pole saws, pruners, loppers, and gas-powered chain saws.
• Inspect and ensure proper working condition of all tools and equipment.
• Enforce safe practices and keep the work area clean and safe.
• Travel for storm restoration work when needed.
