Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts and Kendall Vegetation Services is seeking a climber to perform tree pruning, removal, and storm restoration work. You will climb with ropes, use PPE, and execute tasks per the Foreperson's directions while prioritizing safety and efficiency.

The role requires knowledge of knots and rigging, emergency rescue skills, and the ability to travel for storm work. A high school diploma is preferred, and physical fitness is essential.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of knots, ropes, and rigging devices used in tree trimming and removal operations.
• Ability to climb and descend trees using rope and safety saddle.
• Emergency rescue techniques and first aid knowledge.
• Familiarity with electrical hazards and procedures near conductors and aerial rescue.
• Ability to work at heights under varying weather conditions.
• Physically strong with good balance and depth perception.

Responsibilities

• Climb, prune, and remove trees according to Foreperson’s directives.
• Load and unload trucks with logs, brush, and debris; feed brush into chipper.
• Work from ground using hand saws, pruners, and gas-powered chain saws.
• Ensure tools and equipment are in good condition.
• Enforce safe job practices and keep area clean and orderly.
