Job summary

XKIG is seeking a Climber to perform tree pruning and removal, traveling as needed for storm restoration. You will climb using ropes and PPE, following safety protocols and Foreperson directives, while loading equipment and maintaining tool readiness.

The role requires navigating electrical hazards, working at heights, and sustaining physical fitness. A high school diploma is preferred, with health insurance and 401K benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of knots, ropes, and rigging devices used in tree trimming/removal operations.
• Ability to climb/descend trees using rope and safety saddle.
• Knowledge of emergency rescue techniques and basic first aid.
• Awareness of electrical hazards and procedures near conductors and aerial rescue.
• Capability to work at heights under varying weather conditions.
• Must maintain physical strength, balance, depth perception, and hearing instructions.
• Willingness to travel for storm restoration work.

Responsibilities

• Climb, prune, and remove trees per Foreperson's directives.
• Load/unload trucks with logs, brush, and debris; feed brush into chipper.
• Work from ground using hand tools like saws, pruners, and loppers.
• Inspect and ensure proper functioning of tools and equipment.
• Enforce safe practices and keep work area clean and orderly.
• Perform duties for storm work as needed.
