Job summary

XKIG seeks a Tree Climber in Oklahoma to perform climbing, pruning, and removal of trees under Foreperson direction. The role requires strict safety, knowledge of knots, ropes, and rigging, and readiness to work at height in varying weather.

Qualifications

• Experience in electric utility vegetation management or related industries preferred.
• Must climb and descend trees using rope and safety saddle.
• Ability to obtain and maintain first-aid certification and CPR.
• Background check and drug screen required.
• Travel out of town for storm restoration work when needed.

Responsibilities

• Climb, prune, and remove trees according to Foreperson’s directives.
• Load and unload trucks with logs, brush, debris.
• Inspect and ensure proper working condition of tools and equipment.
• Enforce safe job practices and keep work area clean and orderly.
• Work from ground with hand saws, pole saws, pruners, hand pruners, loppers, and gas-powered chain saws.
• Perform duties for storm work as needed.
