Job summary

XKIG in North Carolina is seeking a skilled Climber to join our vegetation management team. You will climb, prune, and remove trees under a Foreperson’s direction, while prioritizing safety and efficient work practices in varied conditions.

Responsibilities include loading logs, operating hand tools, inspecting gear, and supporting storm restoration efforts as needed. A high school diploma is preferred and travel for storm work may be required.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate working knowledge of knots, ropes, and rigging devices used in tree trimming/removal.
• Must be able to climb/descend trees using rope and safety saddle.
• Must be able to administer emergency rescue techniques, including tree rescue and first aid.

Responsibilities

• Climb, prune, and remove trees according to Foreperson’s directives.
• Load and unload trucks with logs, brush, and debris; feed brush into chipper.
• Inspect and ensure proper working condition of tools and equipment.
