Job summary

Layton Construction seeks a Project Engineer to assist Project Managers in ensuring work meets plans and specs. You will review drawings, coordinate with subs, and track progress on site.

Responsibilities include updating schedules, assisting in bids, and ensuring safety policies are followed. A bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field is required, with 1+ year of relevant experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field.
• 1+ year of experience with a commercial general contractor or internship preferred.
• Strong written and spoken communication.
• Able to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
• Familiarity with scheduling programs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review project plans and specifications to ensure compliance.
• Attend meetings and distribute minutes.
• Publish weekly progress reports and update schedules.
• Assist in bidding and scope development for trade contractors.
• Coordinate with superintendent on shop drawings and material lists.
• Ensure safety policies are followed on site.
