Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Project Engineer to assist Project Managers in ensuring project work meets plans and specifications. The role requires relocation to the project site for nationwide projects.

You will review shop drawings, coordinate meetings, update schedules, and assist in bidding and scope development for trade contractors, working closely with the superintendent to maintain safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• 1+ year of experience with a commercial general contractor or related internship preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong organization and grammar.

Responsibilities

• Assures compliance by becoming familiar with project plans and specifications; reviews shop drawings and submittals.
• Reviews plans for value analysis and constructability; communicates inconsistencies to the architect.
• Attends and takes notes for project team meetings and distributes minutes.
• Updates project schedules and assists in bidding and developing scope for trade contractors.
