Layton Construction is seeking a Project Engineer to assist Project Managers in delivering work that meets plans and specifications. This on-site role involves close coordination with superintendents, architects, and subcontractors across nationwide project sites.

You will review drawings, prepare progress reports, and help manage schedules to ensure timely completion while upholding safety standards and quality expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field or equivalent experience.
• 1+ year experience with a commercial general contractor or related internship preferred.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency with Word and Excel.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and specs.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers to ensure work meets plans and specs.
• Review shop drawings and submittals for compliance.
• Contribute to value analysis and constructability reviews; flag inconsistencies.
• Attend and document project meetings; distribute minutes.
• Publish weekly progress reports and maintain project schedules.
• Assist in bidding and scope development for trades.
• Coordinate testing and inspections to ensure material compliance.
• Support safety practices and incident reporting.
