Job summary

Generator Supercenter, Inc. seeks a Generator Mechanic/Service Technician to repair and maintain whole-home standby generators at customers' residences. You will travel in a company vehicle, communicate with clients, and use mechanical and electrical skills to diagnose issues. Reading manuals and blueprints is required. Schedule is typically Mon–Fri 8am–5pm, with weather-related changes.

The role emphasizes safety, documentation, and customer service as core duties in a field service environment.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and communication skills required.
• Ability to read and understand technical manuals, wiring diagrams and blueprints.
• Experience with mechanical small engine repair and electrical wiring helpful.
• Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.
• Must be physically able to perform duties and work outdoors in varying weather.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer residences using company vehicle.
• Communicate with customers regarding arrival, work, issues resolved.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain home standby generators.
• Follow manuals, diagrams, and procedures for repairs.
• Test and operate automatic transfer switches; document services in software.
