Job summary

Generator Supercenter, Inc. is seeking a Generator Mechanic/Service Technician to repair and maintain whole home standby generators at customers' residences in the surrounding area. You will plan with the Service Manager, travel using a company vehicle, and communicate directly with customers about service performed.

The role requires reading manuals, wiring diagrams, and blueprints, with safety as a priority. The work typically runs Mon-Fri, 8 a.m.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and communication skills required.
• Able to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams and blueprints.
• Experience with mechanical small engine repair and electrical wiring.
• Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Using company vehicle, travel to customers’ residences.
• Communicate with customers regarding arrival and work performed.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and perform maintenance on home generators.
• Follow technical manuals, diagrams, blueprints and procedures.
• Test and operate transfer switches and related systems.
• Document services using an electronic software system.
• Adhere to all safety practices and requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.
