Job summary

Generator Supercenter is seeking a Generator Mechanic/Service Technician to travel to customer residences and perform repair and preventive maintenance on whole-home standby generators. You will read manuals, troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues, and update the service software with results.

A company vehicle is provided for daily jobs. The schedule is typically Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, with potential adjustments for weather.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to read and understand technical manuals/diagrams/blueprints.
• Experience with mechanical small engine repair and electrical wiring.
• Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
• Physically able to perform duties outdoors in varying weather.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customers' residences using company vehicle.
• Communicate arrival times and work progress with customers.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and perform maintenance on home generators.
• Follow technical manuals, diagrams, and procedures.
• Test and operate automatic transfer switches.
• Document services performed in the electronic system.
• Adhere to all safety practices and requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
