Job summary

Generator Supercenter is seeking a Service Technician to plan and travel to customers’ homes or businesses to perform repairs and preventative maintenance on standby generators. You’ll use mechanical and electrical knowledge to troubleshoot and fix whole-home standby generators and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and blueprints.

The role typically runs Mon-Fri, 8 am–5 pm, with potential adjustments to meet customer needs and weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and verbal/written communication skills.
• Ability to read and understand technical manuals, diagrams and blueprints.
• Ability to work independently with initiative and manage schedules.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customers’ locations using company vehicle.
• Communicate progress, issues and outcomes with customers.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair and maintain residential and commercial standby generators.
• Follow manuals, diagrams, and blueprints for repairs.
• Test and troubleshoot automatic transfer switches.
• Document services in the electronic software system.
• Adhere to safety practices and-company requirements.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
