Job summary

Generator Supercenter, Inc. is seeking a Generator Mechanic/Service Technician to repair and maintain whole-home standby generators at customer residences.

You will travel using the company vehicle, read technical manuals, and utilize electrical/mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and fix issues, communicating clearly with customers. The role requires reading blueprints, adhering to safety protocols, and updating records in the software system after service.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and communication skills for field visits.
• Ability to read and interpret manuals, diagrams and blueprints.
• Electrical wiring and mechanical small engine repair experience.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel to customer residences in the service area.
• Physical ability to perform repairs outdoors in varying weather.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer residences using company vehicle.
• Communicate arrival, work performed and issues to customers.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain home generators.
• Follow manuals, diagrams and procedures for repairs.
• Test and operate automatic transfer switches; document work.
• Adhere to safety requirements and perform other duties as assigned.
