Job summary

The Generator Mechanic/Service Technician at Generator Supercenter, Inc. travels to customer homes to perform repair and preventative maintenance on whole home standby generators using company vehicles.

You will apply mechanical and electrical knowledge while reading manuals, wiring diagrams, and blueprints and communicate clearly with customers about work performed and outcomes. Typical schedule is Mon-Fri 8 am-5 pm, with adjustments for weather.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to read and understand technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and blueprints.
• Experience with mechanical small engine repair and electrical wiring.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work independently and travel to customer residences.
• Physical ability to perform required duties outdoors in varying weather.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer’s residence using company vehicle.
• Communicate with customers about arrival, work being performed, issues resolved, etc.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain the customer’s home generator.
• Follow manuals, diagrams, blueprints, and procedures.
• Test, troubleshoot, and operate automatic transfer switches.
• Document services in electronic software system.
• Adhere to safety practices and requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.
