Job summary

DeAngelo Contracting Services (DCS) is seeking highly motivated Herbicide Applicator Technicians responsible for spraying right aways, roadsides, removing weeds, trimming, and cutting grass and brush. This role uses a spray truck, an ATV, a backpack sprayer, or hose to apply chemicals and maintain equipment, with rigorous safety standards and DOT compliance.

We offer competitive wages of $21–$25 per hour, with benefits including medical, dental, vision, and PTO.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• 21+ years of age or older.
• A valid driver's license required (5 years clean MVR).
• Must be able to travel away from home for up to 4-6 weeks at a time (Hotel paid for by DCS and per-diem).
• Herbicide application experience is preferred but not required.
• Commercial Pesticide Applicators preferred: Category C6, but not required for hire. This license will need to be obtained within the first 90 days of employment.
• Agricultural, landscaping, or related industry experience is preferred.
• Successfully complete pre-employment DOT drug screen, physical, and background check.

Responsibilities

• Complete all DOT required truck inspections completely (responsible to identify and troubleshoot truck/spray system issues or needed repairs).
• Keep truck and equipment clean and always organized.
• Individuals will be trained to be capable of calibrating all spray equipment.
• Individuals will be trained in the basic understanding of weed, grass, and brush types.
• Individuals will be trained to have a general knowledge of methods and chemicals used, what they control, and all safety requirements to meet the customers' expectations.
