Job summary

Layton Construction seeks a Project Manager to oversee planning, management, procurement, scheduling, and execution of construction projects. Travel nationwide is required; on-site to the project location.

May handle multiple projects, driving profitability, safety, and quality to exceed owner expectations by delivering predictable outcomes. The role requires a Bachelor's in construction management or related field and 5+ years of ground-up commercial project experience, especially in light

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of experience in ground-up commercial projects, particularly in the light industrial and/or cold storage sector.
• Understands estimating concepts to verify bids and process change orders.
• Knowledge of construction laws, practices, and contract language to protect the company while delivering quality service.
• Familiar with building codes, plans, blueprints, and specifications.
• Strong teamwork and delegation abilities.
• Effective verbal and written presentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver predictable outcomes for internal and external teams and customers.
• Collaborate with project superintendent and lead the project management plan (PMP).
• Prepare estimates, budgets, and manage procurement and scheduling.
• Negotiate change orders and manage cost and profit impact.
• Maintain client relationships and lead project meetings.
• Ensure permits and regulatory requirements are obtained as needed.
• Close out projects with as-built drawings and final reports.
• Coordinate with Estimating for cost data in the database.
• Oversee safety, quality, and risk management plans.
