Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Project Manager to oversee ground-up commercial projects with full-time travel to project locations. The role emphasizes on-site leadership, planning, procurement, scheduling, and execution across multiple projects as needed.

Responsibilities include leading the project team, managing budgets and permits, and ensuring safety, quality, and profitability while maintaining strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field or equivalent
• Understanding estimating concepts and market rates for bids and change orders
• Knowledge of contractual language to protect company while serving client
• Familiarity with building codes, plans, blueprints, and specifications
• Strong teamwork and delegation abilities to meet organizational goals
• Strong verbal and written presentation and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Deliver predictable outcomes for internal and external teams and customers.
• Ensure safety, integrity, and quality in all project work.
• Collaborate with Superintendent to ensure project delivery and client relationships.
• Assist in estimating and developing project budgets.
• Lead the Project Management Plan (PMP) and conduct pre-award and pre-construction meetings.
• Negotiate change orders and manage cost/profit impact; manage subcontractors and permits.
• Prepare monthly client pay requests and monitor collections; coordinate with accounting for payments and lien releases.
• Manage final close-out procedures including as-built drawings and project documentation.
• Interface with Estimating for cost data and provide updates for the estimating database.
• Maintain client relationships and conduct regular project meetings.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
