Job summary

Layton Construction seeks a Project Manager to lead planning, procurement, scheduling, and execution of construction projects. This full-time, on-site role requires travel to project locations and coordination with the superintendent and clients.

You will develop the project management plan, manage budgets, handle permits and subcontracts, monitor safety and quality, and drive client relationships to successful project closeouts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of experience in ground-up commercial projects, particularly light industrial/cold storage.
• Understanding estimating concepts to verify bids and process change orders.
• Knowledge of contracting language, construction laws, and practices.
• Familiarity with building codes, plans, blueprints, and specifications.
• Effective teamwork and ability to delegate to achieve goals.
• Strong verbal and written presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver predictable outcomes for internal teams, external teams, and customers.
• Prepare project budgets and cost estimates.
• Develop the PMP and conduct pre-award and pre-construction meetings.
• Negotiate subcontracts and obtain permits as necessary.
• Manage project schedule and monitor quality, safety, and cost.
• Maintain client relationships and lead project closeout activities.
• Coordinate with estimating to provide cost information for the database.
