Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Project Manager to oversee planning, management, procurement, scheduling, and execution of multiple ground-up commercial projects. The role requires full-time travel and on-site work at project locations, with location not reflecting the project site.

The role emphasizes delivering predictable outcomes, maintaining safety and quality, and managing client relationships throughout project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of experience in ground-up commercial projects, particularly light industrial and/or cold storage.
• Understanding estimating concepts to verify bids, market rates, and process change orders.
• Understanding contractual language and construction laws and practices.
• Knowledge of building codes, plans, blueprints, and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead the project team to deliver predictable outcomes on schedule and budget.
• Prepare estimates, budgets, PMP, and conduct pre-award and pre-construction meetings.
• Manage procurement, subcontracts, permits, and regulatory compliance as needed.
• Develop monthly client pay requests and coordinate payments with accounting.
• Monitor safety, quality, cost, and schedule; manage change orders and risk.
