Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Project Manager to oversee planning, procurement, scheduling, and execution of ground-up construction projects. This role travels nationally and is on-site at the project location, ensuring profitability, safety, and quality while meeting owner expectations.

You will champion operational excellence, coordinate with the Superintendent, and lead the PMP development and pre-construction activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in ground-up commercial projects.
• Understanding estimating concepts to verify bids and process change orders.
• Understanding contractual language and construction laws.
• Familiarity with building codes, plans, blueprints, and specifications.
• Able to work well in a team and delegate tasks effectively.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver predictable outcomes for internal teams, external teams, and customers.
• Prepare project estimates and budget.
• Lead the project team in creating the PMP and conduct pre-award/pre-construction meetings.
• Negotiate change orders and manage cost and profit impact.
• Develop monthly client pay requests and monitor collections.
• Coordinate with estimating for cost data and with client meetings.
• Manage project procurement of materials and equipment within budget.
• Ensure project safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
