Layton Construction is seeking a Project Manager to lead the planning, management, and execution of national construction projects with full-time travel to project sites. Responsibilities include budgeting, procurement, scheduling, and vendor coordination.

The role emphasizes safety, quality, and client satisfaction while delivering predictable outcomes. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in ground-up commercial work, knowledge of contracts and estimating, and strong leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in ground-up commercial projects, especially light industrial or cold storage.
• Understands estimating concepts to verify bids and change orders.
• Knows construction contracts, laws, and practices to protect the company.
• Familiar with building codes, plans, and specifications.
• Team-oriented with strong delegation and communication skills.
• Experienced in presenting and communicating with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, management, procurement, scheduling, and execution of assigned projects.
• Develop and monitor the project management plan and milestones with the superintendent.
• Prepare estimates, budgets, and monthly client pay requests.
• Coordinate change orders, subcontractor negotiations, and cost control.
• Ensure quality, safety, and risk management across the project site.
• Maintain client relationships and conduct regular project reviews.
• Oversee closeout procedures, as-built drawings, and final documentation.
