Job summary

Layton Construction seeks a Project Manager to lead planning, procurement, scheduling, and execution for multiple ground-up construction projects. The role emphasizes profitability, safety, and superior owner satisfaction through predictable outcomes.

The candidate will manage budgets, prepare PMP, coordinate with superintendents, and handle change orders and client relationships while ensuring compliance and timely closeout.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field or equivalent
• 5+ years of experience on ground-up commercial projects, especially light industrial or cold storage
• Understanding of estimating concepts to verify bids and process change orders
• Understanding of contractual language and construction laws and practices
• Familiar with building codes and plans, blueprints, and specs
• Strong team integration and ability to delegate to achieve goals
• Strong verbal and written presentation and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Lead project planning, procurement, scheduling, and execution for assigned construction projects.
• Develop and manage project budget and estimates.
• Prepare PMP and oversee pre-award and pre-construction meetings.
• Negotiate change orders with owners and subs and manage cost impact.
• Develop project schedules with milestones and coordinate with superintendent.
• Ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance; manage closeout and as-built deliverables.
