Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN with post-cardiac intervention experience for a night shift assignment in Louisiana. You must hold an active LA state or compact RN license and have at least 2 years of telemetry experience.

Travel nursing experience and hospital experience are required. Responsibilities include caring for post-intervention patients in the Telemetry unit, 3x12-hour nights, 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio, and potential float within the hospital.

Qualifications

• Active LA state or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required, NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years telemetry experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Must disclose any license disciplinary actions at time of consideration
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation

Responsibilities

• Care for patients post cardiac intervention in Telemetry unit
• Night shift 3x12-hour schedule from 18:45-7:15
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Willing to float within the hospital as needed
• Provide telemetry monitoring and cardiac care post-procedure
• Orientation includes virtual training on day one and EMR education on days two and three
• Local candidates are not accepted; residence must be greater than 50 miles from the facility
• Former employees must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Holiday RTO requests should be kept to a minimum

Job description

Requirements

• Active LA state or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required, NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and heparin protocols
• Experience managing cardiac drips (no titration)
• Experience with pacemakers, post cardiac angiogram/cath/surgery care, and TAVR patients
• One professional reference required
• Must disclose any license disciplinary actions at time of consideration

• Work in the Telemetry unit caring for patients post cardiac intervention (heart cath, pacemaker, CABG, TAVR)
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 18:45-7:15
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• McKesson charting system experience preferred

• Provide telemetry monitoring and cardiac care for patients following cardiac procedures
