Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry travel assignment in California. Must hold an active CA RN license in-hand and have 2+ years of recent RN experience, including 1 year in acute care and 1 year in cardiac telemetry within the last 2 years.

The role requires ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS in-hand, prior travel nursing experience, and Epic EMR proficiency. Enjoy generous housing allowances, travel and licensure reimbursements, and day-one benefits while working 3x12-hour

Qualifications

• Active CA RN license in-hand at time of application (EMSA not accepted).
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience; 1 year in acute care.
• 1 year full-time equivalent in cardiac telemetry in past 2 years.
• In-hand certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS.
• CPI Blue Card preferred for ER or Float Pool (required for ER/Float Pool).
• Prior travel nursing experience required.
• Two supervisor references required.
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, line care, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management.
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (titration not required).

Responsibilities

• Telemetry monitoring and care for cardiac and stepdown patients, including arrhythmia interpretation and emergency response.
• Cardiac Telemetry unit in a hospital setting.
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00–07:30.
• Shifts Sunday through Saturday; float to other units; weekend coverage.
• Epic EMR experience required and documented in work history.
• Care for patients with pacemakers, post catheterization, TAVR, and VAD devices.
• Local candidates accepted at traveler rates; returning staff must be away at least one year to return as traveler.
• Minimal RTO within first two weeks of assignment; max 7 days preferred per 13-week contract.
• First-time travelers not considered.

• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travelers
• Returning staff must have been gone a minimum of one year to be eligible to return as a traveler
• Minimal RTO allowed within the first two weeks of the assignment, with a maximum of 7 days preferred per 13-week contract
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
