Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Cardiac Stepdown/Telemetry assignment in California open to travel and local candidates; shift is 3x12s, 19:00–07:30. Requires active CA RN license with ACLS and BLS, and EPIC EMR experience.

Minimum 2 years RN experience with at least 1 year in acute care and 1 year in the specialty within the past 2 years. Responsibilities include telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and care for post-MI and post-angiography patients.

Qualifications

• Active CA RN license required in-hand at time of application (EMSA not accepted).
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required in-hand.
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required.
• Minimum one year of experience in an acute care setting required.
• At least one year of FT-equivalent experience in the specialty area within the past two years required.
• Prior travel nursing experience required.
• EPIC EMR experience required and must be reflected in work history.
• Two supervisor references required.

Responsibilities

• Stepdown Cardiac unit setting focused on telemetry monitoring and cardiac care.
• Cardiac monitoring with dysrhythmia interpretation and management.
• Care for patients with pacemakers, post cardiac angiogram, post MI, pre/post cardiac cath, TR band, and TAVR procedures.
• Management of cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration).
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30.
• EPIC EMR experience required.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
• Perform professional nursing duties incorporating age-appropriate assessment, planning, intervention, and advocacy for patients and families.
• Evaluate patient outcomes and discharge readiness, revising care plans or making referrals as needed.
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel candidates.
• Returning staff must have been separated from the facility for a minimum of one year to return as a traveler.
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract highly preferred, with no RTO permitted within the first two weeks of the assignment.
