Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Telemetry RN for a night shift with floating and weekend coverage in Kansas. This travel position requires a KS or Compact RN license, BLS/ACLS, and 2+ years of recent travel experience, with preferred charge nurse and Epic experience.

Responsibilities include telemetry monitoring, rapid response, IV and catheter care, and patient management on 3x12-hour night shifts, with required weekend work. Housing and travel reimbursements are offered.

Qualifications

• Active KS or Compact RN license required.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Minimum 2 years of recent travel nursing experience.
• Previous travel nursing experience required.
• Preferred charge nurse experience.
• Epic charting experience preferred.
• Trauma Level I or II experience preferred.
• Skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV therapy, central/PICC/peripheral line care, blood product administration, and respiratory management (BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, ABG interpretation).
• Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization, cardiac surgery, and sheath removal preferred.

Responsibilities

• Works in the Telemetry unit.
• Cardiac Telemetry / MS-Tele / PCU-DOU-IMC-Stepdown patient population.
• 1:6 patient ratio.
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (18:45-07:15).
• Floating required to like units within scope as needed.
• Weekend shifts required.
• Provide cardiac telemetry monitoring and emergency response, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and use of rapid response/code teams.
• Administer medications including heparin protocols and IV insulin protocols.
• Manage cardiac and vasoactive drips without titration.
• Perform wound care, isolation precautions/PPE, and feeding tube management.
• Support pre/post hemodialysis and renal failure management.
• Assist with post cardiac angiogram and total joint replacement care.
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates not accepted.
• Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler.
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation.
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted.
• Receives brief orientation when floating to other units.
