Job summary

American Traveler, LLC is seeking an experienced Travel RN with Labor and Delivery expertise to join our team in North Carolina. Licensure must be NC or compact, with current BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate certifications.

A minimum of 2 years in L&D and previous travel nursing experience are required. You'll work on a level 1 or community hospital, 3x12 night shifts (19:00-07:30), with weekend/holiday rotations and 75-mile local candidate option at reduced rate.

Qualifications

• Active NC or compact RN license in hand.
• Current certifications: BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate (AWHONN Advanced preferred).
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required.
• Previous travel nursing experience required.
• Community hospital experience preferred.
• Must pass EKG/Telemetry exam onsite.
• Flu vaccine required with no exemptions or declinations accepted.
• Skills include IV therapy/phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, use of infusion pumps, high-risk and vaginal delivery assistance, C-section circulating, EFM use, NST, triage of obstetrical patients, and postpartum and newborn care.

Responsibilities

• Level 1 nursery facility caring for patients greater than 35 weeks gestation.
• Patient population includes pre-eclampsia, GDM, Oligo, GHTN, and other obstetrical disorders.
• Patient ratio of 1:2.
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:30).
• Weekend and holiday rotation required.
• Low census on-call required.
• Floating to Postpartum unit as needed.
• Centricity charting system experience preferred.
• Biweekly orientation schedule.
• Provide comprehensive labor and delivery nursing care including antepartum, postpartum, and newborn care.
• Scrubs provided.
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position.
• Local candidates accepted within 75 miles at a reduced rate.
• Candidates with prior permanent employment at this health system must not have been employed within the past 6 months.
• RTO must be limited to 5-7 days maximum.
