Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for Labor & Delivery on a night shift in Colorado Springs. Requires a CO or Compact RN license and 2 years of L&D experience.

Current BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate and FHM certifications are required, along with prior travel nursing experience. Trauma Level II facility experience is preferred and Epic EMR proficiency is expected.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (CO or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate, and FHM
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• First-time travelers will not be considered
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a hospital environment
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30), various days of the week
• Weekend shifts required per unit needs
• On-call responsibilities required per unit needs
• Patient ratio of 1:2 for labor patients, up to 4:1 for antepartum or postpartum patients
• Floating required to other units within the service line
• May be required to float to a sister facility (Memorial Hospital North)
• Epic EMR experience required
• Trauma Level II facility
• Provide comprehensive labor and delivery nursing care including antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum management
• Assist with high-risk deliveries, vaginal deliveries, and C-sections including circulating and scrubbing roles
• Manage fetal monitoring including external and internal fetal monitoring and IUPC placement
• Care for patients with high-risk conditions including pre-eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, placenta previa, and VBAC management
• Administer medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
• Provide newborn care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and neonatal resuscitation
• Complete all facility-specific training modules within the first week of assignment
• Maximum of 10 RTO days approved per 13-week contract
• RTO is not allowed during select blackout periods including early September, late October through early November, late November through early December, and late December through early January
• Local candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are accepted at a local rate
• Candidates previously employed by the health system or its affiliates may face eligibility restrictions
• Travelers who completed a full year on assignment in this specialty must wait at least one year before being rebooked
