American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for Labor & Delivery in Wisconsin. Requires 2+ years L&D experience and a WI or compact RN license. BLS, NRP, and FHM certifications are required, plus EPIC EMR experience.

The role features a 12-hour night shift (18:30-07:00), 36 hours/week, 1:1 patient ratios for laboring patients, and every-other-weekend rotations. On-call and holiday coverage apply; potential float to inpatient units.

Qualifications

• 1:1 for laboring patients; 1:3 for couplets, antepartum, and surgical patients.

Requirements

• BLS, NRP, and FHM certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of L&D experience required
• Experience with NSTs, patient triage, postpartum and newborn assessments/care, and nursery care required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• At least 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
• Candidate's middle name or initial, DOB, and last 4 of SSN required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Level III Trauma Center with 64 beds, unit has 8 LDRP/Antepartum beds
• Patient population includes L&D patients >35 weeks, GYN surgeries, antepartum, and postpartum cases
• Patient ratios are 1:1 for laboring patients and 1:3 for couplets, antepartum, and surgical patients
• 12-hour night shift schedule (18:30-07:00), 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend rotation required
• On-call requirements vary based on contract
• Holiday coverage required on a rotating basis
• May float to inpatient units in a sitter or CNA role
• Uses EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing system
• Fetal heart monitoring (FHM) performed at bedside and nurse's station, no telemetry
• Support team includes Charge RN, Resource RN, RRT, and OB physician with a 30-minute call-back time
• Charge RN assists with patient care as needed and RN draws blood
• Orientation includes NEO and at least one shift to learn unit flow
• Up to 7 days of RTO can be approved
• Scrubs may be any color
• Parking available in designated yellow lines in front of the building or near the ED
• First-time travelers may be considered upon review
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no radius restrictions
• Former employees of the health system or its subsidiaries must be separated for at least 12 months before becoming eligible for travel assignments
