Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position on nights, requiring 2 years of L&D experience and a NC or compact RN license.

Night shift 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM on a 19-bed unit with 100-200 births per month; Epic charting used; pre-employment drug screen required. Travel-friendly assignment with comprehensive L&D care and neonatal support.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (NC or compact) required
• BLS and NRP certifications required
• AWHONN Intermediate certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Competent in Management of Second Stage and Vaginal Exams
• Must be comfortable with transitioning newborns in labor and delivery
• Skilled in labor and delivery management, including amnioinfusion, assisting with high-risk and vaginal deliveries, and forceps/vacuum extraction
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood and blood products
• Experience with EFM (External Fetal Heart Monitoring) and recognition/treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns

Responsibilities

• 19-bed Labor and Delivery unit with 100-200 births per month
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• 1:2-3 patient ratio
• Floating to Postpartum/Mother Baby required
• Uses Epic charting system
• Facility performs its own pre-employment drug screen upon arrival to assignment
• Provide comprehensive labor and delivery care including antepartum, postpartum, and newborn care
• Assist with neonatal care in the delivery room, including APGAR scoring and neonatal resuscitation
• Support medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
• Provide pain management support including epidural anesthesia and opioid administration
• First-time travelers accepted, provided candidate has required L&D experience
• Candidates residing in Moore County are not eligible for this position
• Previous FirstHealth employees must have been separated from employment for at least 1 year to be considered
• Candidates residing outside Moore County are accepted at the same pay rate as travelers
