Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN with at least 3 years of experience for a 13-week day shift assignment in Maryland. Active compact or MD RN license required; C-EFM, BLS, and NRP certifications mandatory; ACLS preferred.

The role involves labor and delivery care, fetal monitoring, and postpartum support in a Baby Friendly facility. Shifts are 3x12-hour days from 07:00 to 19:30, with every-other weekend/holiday and on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Active compact RN license or MD RN license required.
• Current certifications: C-EFM (through NCC), BLS, and NRP.
• ACLS certification preferred.
• 3 years of Labor and Delivery experience required.
• Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment.
• Skilled in labor and delivery management and related procedures.

Responsibilities

• Labor and Delivery unit setting.
• 3x12-hour day shifts scheduled 07:00-19:30.
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required.
• On-call requirement of 8 hours per 6-week scheduling period.
• Baby Friendly facility care; nurses may cover Post Partum as needed.
• Provide comprehensive labor, delivery, and postpartum nursing care.
• Scrubs provided; local candidates accepted at a lower pay rate.
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position.

• Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment
• Skilled in labor and delivery management including amnioinfusion, vaginal and C-section delivery assistance, forceps/vacuum extraction, and hemorrhage/shock management
• Experience with antepartum, postpartum, and pain management procedures including epidural and IV conscious sedation
• Skilled in fetal monitoring and recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
