Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift assignment in Washington State. Requires 2 years of L&D experience and Epic EMR proficiency. Licensed RNs with WA or compact license and strong certifications will thrive in this teaching hospital setting.

The role includes 3x12-hour nights, 1:1 to 1:3 staffing, and potential float to sister facilities. Travel, housing allowances, and bonuses are offered to qualified applicants.

Qualifications

Active WA or compact RN license required
Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience
Epic EMR experience required
Required certifications: BLS, FHM, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate
ACLS certification preferred
Experience with blood and blood product administration
Experience maintaining central lines (CVC/PICC)
Experience with medication administration including anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, insulin drips, and Magnesium Sulfate therapy
Experience assisting with high-risk deliveries, circulating and recovering C-sections
Experience with sterile vaginal exams and epidural anesthesia/pain management
Experience with fetal monitoring and IUPC placement/calibration
Experience with postpartum and antepartum care and procedures
Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

Responsibilities

Labor and Delivery unit with 8 labor rooms and 4 triage rooms
Facility averages 200-300 births per month
Patient population includes labor, preterm labor, and high-risk antepartum cases
Staffing ratio of 1:1 to 1:3
Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
Duties include circulating, OB-GYN, post-op, pre-op, scrub, low-risk antepartum, and low-risk L&D care
Attends all deliveries including high-risk deliveries and GYN surgeries
Provides couplet care and transition nursery support
Float required to Post-Partum and possibly L&D at a sister facility
Teaching hospital setting
Strong staff camaraderie with book clubs and group dinners
May request up to 2 of 3 major holidays off (Thanksgiving, Christmas/Eve, New Year’s/Eve), with 1 required to be worked
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
Radius rule of 50 miles applies for local candidate consideration
Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
Candidates must disclose any prior work history at a Providence facility, including permanent, travel, or registry/per-diem roles
Contracts available in 13 or 26-week lengths
Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities in the surrounding area
