Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a Labor and Delivery RN for a night shift assignment in California. The role requires a CA RN license and experience in labor/postpartum with Epic charting proficiency.

You will work in a hospital L&D unit on a 3x12 schedule, with potential 4x12 shifts upon request, supporting high-risk deliveries and newborn care. The position includes comprehensive benefits, housing support, and travel/licensure reimbursements, with dedicated orientation and opportunities

Qualifications

• CA RN license required; compact license accepted at submission
• ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS and NRP certifications required
• AWHONN Advanced certification preferred
• 2 years minimum labor and delivery experience (3 years preferred)
• Labor and postpartum experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Proficient in fetal monitoring, high-risk delivery and postpartum care
• Experience with Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
• Knowledge of newborn care and neonatal resuscitation
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year within last 3 years
• Full SSN and DOB required for submission

Responsibilities

• Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of an acute care hospital
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:00 AM) with 4x12 on request
• Patient ratio of 1:3
• 36 hours of orientation provided
• Floating between like units and potentially sister facilities within the state
• No block scheduling
• Facility may call off shifts per two-week pay period
• Uses Epic charting system
• Provide comprehensive labor, delivery, postpartum and newborn care
• Assist with high-risk deliveries, C-sections and vaginal deliveries
• Manage antepartum care including NSTs, OCTs and fetal heart monitoring
• Support breastfeeding and lactation for postpartum patients
• Scrub color Royal Blue or Navy Blue; scrubs provided
• Must commit to 3 of 5 major holidays
• RTO requests submitted at application; post-offer RTO may be denied
• First-time travelers not accepted
• Local candidates not accepted within 50 miles
• Providence alumni restrictions apply
• No Nursys or background check hits required

• Facility does not accept candidates with Nursys or background check hits
