American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery assignment in California. Requires at least 1 year of L&D experience and an active CA RN license.

Travel opportunities include a 7-room, 14-bed L&D unit with day shifts (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM). Required ACLS/BLS/NRP and EPIC EMR; travel-friendly environment for seasoned travelers. Holiday coverage is expected; lodging and travel stipends may apply.

Qualifications

• Active California RN license required at time of consideration

• Current ACLS, BLS, NRP and AWHONN Intermediate certifications
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with fetal monitoring and high-risk deliveries

Responsibilities

• Manage labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care
• Assist with C-sections and vaginal deliveries
• Monitor fetal status with external and internal methods
• Provide pain management support including epidural and PCA
• May float to Med-Surg and Ortho as needed
• Maintain 7-room/14-bed L&D unit operations

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring at least 1 year of L&D experience and an active CA RN license.

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required in hand at time of consideration (compact license not accepted)
• Pending licenses not accepted
• Minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate
• Preferred certification: AWHONN Advanced
• Epic charting system experience required
• Skills in fetal monitoring (external and internal), IUPC placement, and management of high-risk and vaginal deliveries
• Experience with postpartum care, newborn care, and neonatal resuscitation
• 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years

Responsibilities

• Labor and Delivery unit with 7 rooms/14 beds and an average daily census of 10
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Possible floating to Med-Surg and Ortho units
• Call required depending on patient census
• Epic EMR experience required
• Provide comprehensive care across labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care
• Assist with C-sections, vaginal deliveries, and high-risk delivery situations
• Support patients with pain management including epidural and PCA use
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Seasoned travelers preferred, though first‑time travelers will be considered
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• RTO limited to no more than 7 days, with requests submitted upfront
• Only one submission allowed at a time within the Providence system
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travamin, and must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility
• Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities within the region
