Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced RN for Labor & Delivery in Washington, requiring Epic charting and prior travel nurse experience. The role focuses on high-risk deliveries, c-sections, and newborn care across antepartum, labor, delivery and postpartum units.

Expect day shifts 3x12s, 0645-1915, with floating to Post-Partum as needed and willingness to work at least 2 of 3 holidays. Travel-friendly housing and per diem options may apply.

Qualifications

WA or compact RN license to practice in WA required.
Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery exp in a unit with similar volume.
Travel nurse experience previously required.
Epic charting system experience is required.
Experience with magnesium sulfate and C-section circulating/scrubbing.
Ability to manage high-risk pregnancies and neonatal basics.

Responsibilities

Provide care across antepartum, labor, delivery and postpartum.
Monitor fetal status with external/internal monitoring; manage meds.
Support newborn care including APGARs and resuscitation if needed.
Handle high-risk conditions such as preeclampsia; manage pathways.
Floating to Post-Partum and compliance with holiday schedule.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring Epic charting experience and prior travel nurse experience.

Requirements

Active WA or compact RN license required
Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP
Preferred certifications: AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate, FHM
Minimum 2 years of L&D experience in a unit with comparable volume and acuity required
Prior travel nursing experience required
Epic charting system experience required
Experience with Magnesium Sulfate drips and circulating/scrubbing for C-sections required
Experience with high-risk deliveries, vaginal deliveries, and obstetrical triage required
Previous charge experience preferred

Responsibilities

Labor and Delivery unit in a hospital setting
Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 0645-1915
No block scheduling; flexibility required
Floating to Post-Partum unit required as needed
Must be available to work at least 2 of 3 scheduled holidays
RTO limited to 5 days or less per assignment, must be disclosed at submission
Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum patients
Manage high-risk conditions including pre-eclampsia, placenta previa, PPROM, preterm labor, and VBAC/trial of labor patients
Administer medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, antihypertensives, and insulin drips
Support newborn care including APGAR scoring, neonatal resuscitation, and newborn assessments
Assist with fetal monitoring including external and internal fetal monitoring and IUPC placement
Local travelers accepted at the same rate as non-local travelers
Travel pairs accepted
Former staff must be separated from the facility/system for at least 1 year before being considered for rehire as a traveler
Required orientation modules completed and signed off by facility managers
