Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a 13-week, 12-hour night shift assignment in Idaho. The role requires active RN licensure, obstetric certifications, and strong L&D experience, including circulating and triage duties.

You will work in a high-volume unit with OR circulation for C-sections, EPIC EMR, and GE Connect EFM, with floating to nearby L&D units as needed. Night shifts; travel housing and benefits provided.

Qualifications

  • Active RN license (state or compact) required at time of submission.
  • BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required.
  • AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification required.
  • STABLE certification required (must have taken course at least once).
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required.
  • L&D, postpartum, and circulating experience required.
  • Triage experience strongly preferred.
  • Driver's license required for consideration.
  • Two professional references: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, with dates and rehire eligibility.

Responsibilities

  • Acute care Women's Services unit with 10 L&D beds, 4 triage beds, and 10 postpartum beds.
  • Circulate in 2 OR suites for C-sections as part of L&D duties.
  • Approximately 120 births per month.
  • Follow AWHONN staffing standards, primarily 1:1 in L&D and 1:6 couple care in postpartum.
  • Patient population includes laboring patients 32+ weeks, inductions, antepartum, postpartum, and well newborns.
  • Titrate drips per protocol (Pitocin, magnesium; rarely insulin).
  • EPIC EMR and GE Connect EFM system used.
  • 12-hour night shifts, 7p-7a, with weekend/holiday coverage as needed.
  • No call or standby requirements.
  • May float to like units within the valley (Nampa L&D and Boise L&D), ~20 minutes away.
  • Charge RN, Resource RN, and House Supervisor staffed on every shift.
  • CNA support 4-5 days/nights per week; unit clerk coverage 24/7.
  • OB hospitalist, midwives, neonatal NP, CRNA available 24/7; neonatologist on call within 15 minutes.
  • Provide direct patient care across L&D, postpartum, triage, and circulating roles as needed.
  • Blue scrubs provided on the unit; orientation typically 4-6 shifts.
  • No blocked scheduling or special scheduling requests accepted.
  • Client may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment.
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; no local candidates accepted.
  • Former permanent employees must wait one year before applying for travel assignment.

  • Cannot work more than five consecutive shifts per hospital policy
  • Required to float to like units within the valley (Nampa L&D and Boise L&D), approximately 20 minutes away, and may float as a sitter to Med-Surg or ED
  • Charge RN, Resource RN, and House Supervisor staffed on every shift without patient assignments
  • CNA support for the floor 4-5 days/nights per week and unit clerk coverage 24/7
  • OB hospitalist, midwives, neonatal NP, and CRNA available 24/7, with neonatologist on call within 15 minutes
  • Provide direct patient care across L&D, postpartum, triage, and circulating roles as needed
  • Blue scrubs provided on the unit
  • Customized unit orientation typically consists of 4-6 shifts
  • No blocked scheduling or special scheduling requests accepted
  • Client may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility, no local candidates accepted
