Job summary

MasTec Renewables is seeking a Field Quality Inspector to independently inspect and monitor construction activities on large wind and solar projects, ensuring compliance with plans, specs, and codes. This traveling role covers 8–12 month project assignments across states, with per diem, vehicle and phone allowances, and routine home rotation to support QA/QC documentation and field management.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil, Mechanical Engineering or related degree preferred.
• High School graduate or equivalent and 2+ years' experience in related construction field.
• Must be capable of completing and passing SWPPP inspector program and have working knowledge of SWPPP project management plan

Responsibilities

• Promote and comply with all Company safety policies and procedures
• Inspect and ensure quality of work performed during daily activities of construction on wind/solar projects
• Determine that construction work is in conformance with the design documents
• Review tests and inspection reports to ensure all required tests are completed and communicate failures to Field Quality Manager
• Ensure materials comply with approved submittals, PO, and data to meet job site specifications
• Perform basic to moderate surveying and measuring to check line, grade and dimensions
• Plan and conduct daily activities to ensure QC/QA data is recorded
• Monitor and record all work scope and prepare Daily Report with measurements
• Prevent deficiencies through preconstruction QC inspection
• Detect deficiencies and address them promptly
• Work with Field Quality Manager and site management as field representative for QA/QC
• Interface with construction managers to report progress and coordinate field operations
• Assist in compiling information to create operations/maintenance manuals
• Assist Logistics to ensure receiving, inventory and SOPs are followed
• Inspect work and manage punch lists for field discipline tasks
• Maintain production and extra work authorization log
• Prepare and distribute daily project updates
• Validate calibrated tooling and measurement equipment status
• Utilize construction management software for quality inspections and data collection
• Assist phase gate preparations or presentations
• Assist Field Quality Manager with benchmarking and turnover
• Mentor/train Quality Inspectors as needed
• Maintain safe driving record for MasTec sites
• Other duties as assigned
