Job summary

MasTec Renewables is seeking a Field Engineer to inspect and monitor construction activities on large wind and solar projects, ensuring conformance with plans and specifications.

The role involves travel across the US (up to 100%), 8–12 months per project, daily per diem, and a monthly vehicle allowance. Applicants should have an engineering/construction background and be able to document test results and QA records.

Qualifications

• Inspect and monitor construction activities to ensure conformance with plans and specs.
• Must complete SWPPP inspector program or have working knowledge of SWPPP project management plan
• Proven ability to document tests and prepare QA/QC reports

Responsibilities

• Promote and comply with safety policies and procedures
• Inspect work to ensure quality on large wind/solar projects
• Determine conformance with design documents
• Review tests and inspection reports and communicate failures to the Field Quality Manager
• Ensure materials meet submittals and job site specs
• Perform basic surveying to check line, grade and dimensions
• Record QA data and prepare a Daily Report with quantities and resources
• Maintain punch lists and coordinate with site management
• Assist in logistics to receive, store and offload materials
• Mentor and train Quality Inspectors as needed
