Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with at least 2 years in shelter/residential environment.
• Commitment to serving vulnerable populations and those who have experienced trauma.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
• Highly organized with strong Microsoft Office skills.
• Intermediate to advanced typing and MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and support with compassion to families in care.
• Apply motivational interviewing to empower clients toward positive change.
• Start rapport building with clients and set goals.
• Provide intensive, short-term case management for a caseload of 24 families weekly.
• Coordinate Family Gateway services and community referrals.
• Develop action plans to aid transitions from shelter to stability.
• Create daily action items for families to minimize shelter time.
• Support youth stability through school/daycare enrollment.
• Foster community support networks for long-term stability.
• Utilize trauma-informed care to provide crisis plans as needed.
• De-escalate conflicts and mediate between families/adults/youth.
• Maintain data in Homeless Information System (encounters, contacts, services).
• Attend meetings and trainings for agency and personal growth.
• Create and organize family files and upload documents.
• Provide front-end staff support to ensure policy compliance.
